If Fabrice is going to be seduced by consumerism it’s because miniature figures of his favorite characters in pop culture exist. My Funko Pop collection began last christmas when I bought myself Captain Marvel while also purchasing Maz Kanata and Jyn Erso for my younger sister as a christmas. Now my squad has six more additions, small yes, but heading towards an inevitably larger number soon.

Going from left to right I’ve got Snap Wexley (an X-Wing pilot from Force Awakens), my ideological grandfather Bernie Sanders, my favorite Harry Potter character Bellatrix, Naruto (check why I love him here), Elliot from my favorite series Mr.Robot, my favorite character in Game of Thrones Arya Stark, and one of my favorite heroes from Marvel Comics Captain Marvel!

As someone who suffers from anxiety I’ve found a lot of coping mechanisms over the years to deal with my disorder. There are a couple of activities and actions that help ease me in my most distressed times but none do so as effectively as film or television. Perhaps just knowing that I have these little reminders of what I love and what make me, me in my possession just simply makes me happy and a little happiness, in my life and anyone’s, is always, always needed.

For now I think I’m really content with my current squad of Funko’s but I can’t wait for my collection to grow over time. Do you have Funko Pops. If yes, which ones do you have? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. As soon as I saw this pop up in my reader, I clicked on it immediately! I love Funko Pops, I collect figures from Harry Potter, Parks & Rec, DC, and The Hunger Games. My most recent addition was Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec. Love Bellatrix, my best advice when it comes to the Harry Potter Funkos is to be careful where you display them if you keep them out of the box. Harry’s glasses (while I have noticed seem to be a bit sturdier in the newer figures) and the wands are super fragile– I’ve had to superglue Dumbledore and Luna Lovegood’s.

  2. I can’t wait for my collection to grow and grow! That’s awesome that you have funko pops for Parks & Rec as well. Which DC funko pops do you have by the way?
